  • Happy Holidays

Well, that was a great little tour, eh? It made a nice change for the 5 of us to come out on the road with a different format and play some different instruments together.

Playing "Estonia" for the first time in Tallinn (and the respectful response from the audience who rose to their feet as one - almost like standing for the national anthem) was an unforgettable memory for us all, as was playing for the first time in Lithuania and (nice surprise of the tour), Burnley!
Thanks to all who came out to share the experiment with us in England, Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Norway, Latvia, Finland, Lithuania, and Estonia, and special thanks to those who took trains, planes, and cars, and popped up all over the place. We know who you are.. x

Have a great Christmas and a happy and healthy 2010.
    I'm going for a lie-down..
h (and Happy Holidays from Ian, Mark, Pete and Steve)

    An update from Racket Records.

As Christmas is nearly upon us we thought we would take this opportunity to remind you that the last postage dates for a chance of pre Christmas delivery are now here. For Western Europe you will need to get your orders in today, for the UK by next Friday 18 Dec. The cut off for the rest of the world has now passed. However we will be packing orders right up to the 22 December.

The Racket Elves have been busy packing the new Vinyl versions of the 'Happiness is the Road' albums this week so for those who have ordered already your vinyl is shipping out to you as we speak. If you still haven't ordered head over to the Racket Store at www.marillion.com/music/albums/hitrvinyl.htmto get hold of a copy. These albums are truly unique & beautiful items and we only have a limited quantity so get one while you still can.

All the remaining downloads from the Less is More tour should be available to purchase by early next week so make sure you check the page regularly at www.marillion.com/shop/music/acoustic.htm The shows sound great in this acoustic format, so if you haven't bought one yet you should definately check them out.

We will be taking a break over Christmas, closing on 23 December - reopening on 5 January so please avoid trying to contact us via e-mail over this period as there won't be anyone here to answer!

Thanks for all your support this year, we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and here's looking forward to an exciting New Year on planet Marillion.

    The Racket Office Team.

  • Message from Mark Kelly

Hello Marilloheads, some of you may be aware that I've become slightly obsessed with Twitter of late. It's a great way for you to see and read about the nitty-gritty behind-the-scenes goings on in the Marillion bubble. Some people don't have time for Twitter but use Facebook or MySpace. So I don't get accused of being a Stephen Fry copy-cat or a Twitter elitist I've started posting my exciting nonsense to facebook and myspace too. Please become my friend if you want to find out what's really going on backstage and at the Racket Club.

  • Happiness Is The Road Limited edition Vinyl albums available to Pre-order now.

Whilst the band are still out doing some very successful Less Is More shows, we have been busy down here at The Racket Club.

With only 6 weeks until Christmas we are pleased to announce the release of the Happiness is the Road albums on limited edition vinyl.  Each one is a double album and has been cut to 180gram black Vinyl at 45rpm in an effort to keep the quality as high as possible.  For full ordering details please go to: http://www.marillion.com/music/albums/hitrvinyl.htm

Throughout the shop we have reduced the prices on many items - just in time for your Christmas shopping.  Remember it's getting cold so we have a few fleeces, hats and jackets to keep you warm and a few great cut price t-shirts for our fans that are still basking in the sunshine! (not jealous).

Racket Records places "Ordering Deadlines" on orders in early December.
These Ordering Deadlines can be found at: http://www.marillion.com/help/orderinfo.htm#xmas

The band are back from Europe this week and have a few days off before heading back out for the final leg of the Less Is More tour.  All dates are sold out except for Dublin which still had a few tickets left.

We'll get the band to send you an update soon but remember you can follow Mark Kelly on Twitter and enjoy his on the road tweets! @markke11y

    NEW TRANSATLANTIC ALBUM.

We have just received the new Transatlantic Album "The Whirlwind" here at Racket Records and it looks and sounds amazing.

Any Transatlantic fans or Marillion fans for that matter who would like to hear what I got up to in Nashville after the Canadian convention can order any of the 3 versions direct from Racket Records. I think you'll like it.

    http://www.marillion.com/music/solo/ta-whirlwind.htm

The 2 CD special edition & Box set feature the song "Lending A Hand" that I wrote, arranged and sang lead vocals on for the project.

The Deluxe edition also has the making of DVD with lots of footage of me and the guys actually being filmed while recording and generally misbehaving in the studio.

It was a lot of fun.

    WISHING TREE AT BUSH HALL

Here's the latest news with regards to the Wishing Tree concert at Bush Hall in London on the 20th December.

We've decided to make it a combined Wishing tree concert and my 50th birthday party! I'll also be playing a few cover versions of some of my favourite songs and hopefully have a few special guests as well.

It should be a fun evening! Hope you can make it.

There are a few tickets left at www.wegottickets.com

    A WORD FROM MR H.

Oslo. What can I say? It started out like any other L=M gig but at some point in the second set, the audience just ran off with it. I felt like I was riding a horse in a horse-race which suddenly turned left and ran off the track, down the road an...d through town!

The band tried to keep up with the crowd and more than one unrehearsed song had to be er.. performed. This extended the show somewhat as you'll hear..

Quite a night, and definitely the best vibe we've had in Oslo to date. I think we're finally getting to know each other..

    MESSAGE FROM RACKET RECORDS

A download of the Oslo show (along with the rest of the first leg of the tour) is now up for sale at www.marillion.com/tour

Over the coming days and weeks, (in time for your Christmas shopping!), we will be dropping prices throughout the Racket Records store and also offering very special offers on t-shirt bundles, DVD bundles and much more.

Come and visit the site often for updates.

For those of you waiting to hear about the Happiness Is The Road limited edition vinyl release - well we should have some more news for you on this next week.

A final reminder about the FREE fan club DVD.

You may have seen communications from us in the past where we talk about 'Web Members' as each fan club is called 'The Web'. Every year each fan club gives their members a free CD which comes directly from the band. A list of previous fan club CD's can be found here to give you an idea of the kind of stuff we do http://www.marillion.com/web/xmas.htm

This year we are pleased to announce that for the first time we will be giving Web members a free DVD! This will be a DVD of the Cologne Happiness Is The Road Tour concert in 2008 - we're calling it 'Snow De Cologne'. Full track listing details will follow soon. So make sure that your membership is up to date or join before November 10th to guarantee yourself one.

For your local fan club please look here http://www.marillion.com/web/index.htm

  • Marillion back from Oslo

We just got back from Oslo - here's a message from Steve Hogarth.

"Oslo. What can I say? It started out like any other L=M gig but at some point in the second set, the audience just ran off with it. I felt like I was riding a horse in a horse-race which suddenly turned left and ran off the track, down the road and through town! This extended the show somewhat as you'll hear..  Quite a night, and definitely the best vibe we've had in Oslo to date.  I think we're finally getting to know each other.. h"

The download of this show (along with the rest of the first leg of the tour) should be up for sale on Friday at www.marillion.com/tour
